Please read the following notes carefully before completing the application form

We look forward to receiving your application.

Application form

  1. Please complete the application form in full and email it, along with your monitoring form to futures.hr@coventry.ac.uk Alternatively, you can complete the application form in black ink and post it to HR Recruitment, JSB 51, James Starley Building, Coventry University, Priory Street, Coventry, CV1 5FB. If you are unsure about how to complete the application form please contact the Human Resources Department. Should you wish to include further details however, you can include a Curriculum Vitae as supporting evidence. You can also refer to the “letter of application”  section below.

  2. When completing the section on employment history, it would be helpful if you explain any breaks, for example 'returned to education' or 'seeking employment'.

  3. It is most important that when completing the section 'relevant experience and skills', you provide details about yourself in relation to the job details supplied.

  4. The University monitors its equal opportunities policy and it would, therefore, be appreciated if the monitoring form could be completed in full. This form will be detached when received by the Human Resources Department and will not play any part in the selection process.

Letter of application

  1. You may attach a letter of application to provide any further information not given in the completed application form.
  2. For academic posts this letter should include details of research, published works (including text books) and professional practice.

Readership and professorship appointments

Please ensure you read fully the notes for guidance before completing your application form.

Referees

  1. Please note it is standard practice to obtain confidential written references for all short-listed candidates prior to interview, unless you indicate clearly (by marking the appropriate box on the application form) not to seek them at this stage.
  2. Referees should be able to comment authoritatively on your work, education, skills and abilities and must not be related to you.
  3. Employees of Coventry University should name their Director of Department or Head of School as their present employer.

Canvassing

Canvassing for appointment will disqualify your application. This does not, however, preclude you making informal enquiries to further your knowledge and understanding of the post.

Communication

We regret that because of the large number of applications we receive for posts within the University we will only communicate further with short-listed candidates. If you have not been contacted within 28 days of the closing date, you should assume you have been unsuccessful.
