Swine Flu Update

Coventry University is aware that some staff and students may have concerns about the developing situation following the outbreak of H1N1 Influenza (Swine Flu) across the world.

Swine flu is not thought to be any more serious than normal winter flu, and symptoms only last around a week.  The symptoms are similar to those of seasonal flu; a feverish illness accompanied by cough, sore throat, headache and muscle aches.

Coventry University is operating as normal.

All events and teaching are going on as usual. The University is closely monitoring this on-going situation and we have detailed plans in place to respond any to incidents of swine flu at the University, working closely with the local Primary Care Trusts and taking advice from national & international agencies.

An Emergency Planning Group has been set up to review contingency plans, monitor the situation and respond as needed to ensure the wellbeing of students and staff, and to ensure the impact on the University is minimised.

Further information for staff is available on StaffNet  and for students on the CU Portal.
