Coventry University runs a BSc and an MSc in Games Technology, which is supported by active research in pervasive computing and links with the games industry.
How do you design games that can be played over the Internet? What is involved in building a flight simulator? Can a machine be programmed to learn from playing games against you? How can mobile devices turn us all into active games players? Games are fun but the problems we confront in building them stretches our computing knowledge to the limit. What we learn from building games often reveals new and valuable ways in which we can use computers in everyday life. This is a leading-edge area of computing.
This programme will equip you to design, build, and market computer games, and to apply the knowledge gained in many areas of advanced computer science. You will explore single-player games, multi-player games, internet-based games, simulations, and virtual reality productions. Your skills in programming will be developed to a high level and directed towards the creation and manipulation of graphics objects and the development of console games. You will develop a knowledge of artificial intelligence and apply this to the design of advanced games.
