Leading companies such as IBM, Ricoh, Emirates and Seven Trent Water will come together in Coventry next week to debate the future of marketing.

As part of the Academy of Marketing Annual Conference, hosted by Coventry University (6 - 8 July, 2010) there will be a roundtable discussion based around the conference theme of Transformational Marketing.

This discussion will cover areas such as corporate social responsibility and environmental marketing.

The roundtable discussion, held on the 7 July 2010, will be chaired by entrepreneur and star of the BBC’s Dragons’ Den business show, Rachel Elnaugh.

Already set to present at the roundtable is IBM UK’s Vice President of Marketing, Communication and Citizenship, Caroline Taylor and Coventry University’s Chancellor, Sir John Egan, who is Chairman of Seven Trent Water

Also presenting at the debate will be Allan Moore, founder of engagement communication consultancy firm SMLXL and David Wortley from The Serious Games Institute at Coventry University.

Each company will have ten minutes to present to the forum and then the floor will be opened for questions.

Eva Kipnis, conference organiser said:

“Coventry University is proud to host a debate that attracts international companies who are willing to openly discuss the environmental and social issues that face the marketing industry.”

One of the key areas that the conference and the roundtable debate will be focusing on is green marketing.

The environment is an important issue, which Coventry University takes very seriously and will therefore be issuing eco-friendly merchandise to conference delegates; ranging from recycled pens to memory sticks with electronic copies of conference documents.

Eva Kipnis continued:

“The roundtable discussion will be an extremely informative and exciting event for all participants.  It will give an insight to transformational marketing from an industry perspective, in comparison to the more academic side from the rest of the conference.

“This mix of top industry professionals and leading marketing academics should result in heated debates about how marketing is advancing in this rapidly changing world.”
